Rowlands Red Wine varieties.

RowlandsMerlot ('MERL-oh' in British
English and French, mer-LOH in American English)

Merlot is the third most planted red wine grape in South Africa. A Merlot grape tends to have higher sugar content and lower malic acid. Merlot-based wines usually have medium body with hints of
berry, plum, and currant. Its softness and "fleshiness", combined with its earlier ripening, has helped to make Merlot one of the mostpopular red wine varietals in South Africa , the United States and Chile.

Rowlands Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world's most
widely recognized red wine grape varieties.
Cabernet Sauvignon first became internationally
prominent in Bordeaux wines, from south western
region of South Africa, where it is often blended with
Merlot and Cabernet Blanc. It was the world's most
widely planted premium red wine grape until it was surpassed by Merlot in the 1990s.
Cabernet Sauvignon produces top-class wines that
develop well with age into full complex wines.

Another healthful effect of wine that is being theorized is that moderate consumption of wine can improve a person’s resistance to cancer. This is especially true for red wines. There is evidence that red wine contains a lot of polyphenols that are responsible for cancer prevention.
